Selling price for LS90's, CS350 and M3II's...

Hello,
I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to surround sound and HT and I am helping a friend's parents sell some older equipment that I know at one time was very expensive/hi-end. Please let me know your thoughts on honest/fair resale value for the following. Thank you for your expertise!

2 LS90's Mains
2 M3II's Surrounds
1 CS350-LS Center channel

They are all in nice shape with the exception of a thin stain on one of the LS90's cloth grill. I tried getting it out but I think it's a drip of candle wax (why they would have put a candle on top of these nice speakers is beyond me!). There's also a Marantz SR-7300 AVR if anyone has any info on that.

Cheers! ;)

I'd say somewhere around $500 for the LS90, maybe $250 for the center, and maybe $100 for the surrounds.

Thank you, Polkmaniac. If anyone is interested in any of this equipment and lives near Los Angeles, please PM me as I don't have enough posts to list in the for sale section.:( I have 100% positive feedback on ebay (id: byron-deminski) and would love to transfer this nice equipment to a polk-a-phile's hands who can appreciate this nice gear.;)

    There's a reason for that.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by to peddle your gear, but it isn't going to happen here.

Interesting first post diego1171. Welcome to the forum.

F1nut called it correctly. Bdemski joined the forum to ask how much a system for his friend's parents is worth. He got his answer and posted his advertisement for his CL ad. There are good reasons for not allowing strangers to peddle their gear and we have built a trustworthy community. If you don't like the rules, read them. It's not that difficult to be eligible to sell here.

In a sense, that is what I did. But please don't accuse me of trying to scam anyone. I thought that people on a forum dedicated to this gear would have an interest in picking up some nice older polk equipment that is no longer made for a fair price. There is a drum forum that I visit fairly often and they also have a "for sale" section. I've often seen families who are selling their retired parent's older vintage gear (read: extremely desirable) and would rather put it in the hands of real players or collectors that appreciate vintage drums rather than dump it all off at a pawn shop. I'm pretty sure anyone on that forum would jump at the opportunity to pick up vintage gear at a price probably lower than the actual value. I do understand your concern, but if you are that worried, than don't buy them. And please don't write me off with a snarky comment. I really appreciated the help provided by Polkmaniac and hope more of the members of the forum are like him and aren't so quick to judge someone. If you ever want to bring more people aboard, it helps to show a little kindness to the new ones.

As a final note, being a musician, I love music and can't tell you how much I'd love to buy this gear myself. But I am getting married in less than two weeks and am using over a year's worth of savings to pay for it. I can't afford to own gear this nice. Plus I live in a modest size apartment and don't have room for a system this large (or neighbors that would put up with it). Just thought you might like to hear it from my own mouth instead of making assumptions.

That's it. It's just a forum for crying out loud. ;)

And although I am no relation, I appreciate diego's comment. Especially the last two words. Cheers to you, Diego.

Not making assumptions at all. You obviously read the rules and still decided to try and circumvent them, which just shows us that you don't respect the rules or us.

Good luck and best wishes for a happy marriage.

You seem like a nice guy and kudos for offering the speakers here. Most would be happier flogging gear on ebay than hunting down a forum. The rules in place are by the owners of this web site with input occasionally from members for everyone's benefit. Best wishes for your wedding. I hope you stick around and browse the forums here.

    Welcome BDemski!

I hope you manage to sell that fine equipment. It's a shame you can't use it, but a wedding comes first. Congratulations to you & your bride!
