All I can say is WOW!! Beautiful imagery, the temple scene was amazing, with all the colors and costumes, VERY GOOD PQ, I think its been getting top scores with all the reveiwers. It's in Mayan so you'll have to read the subtittles but I didn't feel like it took away from the movie as much as in Pan's Labyrinth, had no trouble following the story, and it was a good story at that, great sound, and like I said GREAT PQ. Definant buy for me.

anyone has any information as to when Apocalypto going HD-DVD?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Watched this one twice already and it rocks on standard DVD, i know it kicks a$$ on Blu-Ray. Going to pick up Ghost Rider on Blu-Ray tomorrow, the review should be up by then.
    What is HD-DVD?;) lol

I am very tempted to purchase SD version, but don't want to have multiple copies of the same movies...

can I just borrow your BR player until they come out with a universal combo hd/dvd/br player, Scott? :)

Distributed by Buena Vista aka Disney aka one of the most prominent blu-ray exclusive studios. Just pick up a bdp-s300. They should be at retailers within a week or so. Office Depot has the thing pre-listed for $434.95.

Forget the universal players. They're not going to be as cheap as $299 for a tosh hd-dvd player and another $434.95 for blu-ray...or whatever these players drop to by the time they release a decent universal player...

How about the story itself? Is it a good movie?

I saw it. Lots of very real life looking violence/gore. I really liked the sound track and this CD is on my short list. I'm really into hand drums.
