time to upgrade

hi... first post here (but ive been reading for awhile)

the time has come to update/upgrade my monitor 10's... perhaps i am a nimrod, but i cant seem to find a definitive parts list for crossover and "new" tweeter upgrades... i experience the upper-midrange peak that i have read about in the past, and wish to try the silk domes (have the silver coils)... RDO 194? are the stock crossover values needing to be changed to optimize the usage of these tweeters?

is there anything else i should know? i grew up with my fathers mon 10's, but mine simply do not impress me the way that his used to... the room (my den) is a little less than perfect, as well--- about 20x13x9, with one brick wall, and pergo flooring... i did get a large berber area rug (12x10 i think?) to augment the overstuffed sofa, but the room is still a bit on the live side. i am using an older, but upper-end (lol) sony receiver that was rated 120 wpc and can support 4 ohm loads--- i can tell that more power could be well-implemented, and seperate pre/power amps are the next major purchase for that room. i have an unused mackie FR M-800 that could drive the piss out of those speakers, but the sony has no pre-outs, and i am not certain of the hi-fidelity-ness of an amp designed for high current PA-type use. i used to drive a pair of JBL monitor wedges with that thing, and you could hear them across the street. thoughts?

BTW, this is 2-channel only

thanks in advance,
great forum,
apologies for the novel,
a
gear list:
1 down, 4 up....
