Rock on Sona.

A few strategically placed cigar butts after the workmen leave should get hubby in line, like, oh, well, immediately.

IIRC, you didn't like the RTi8(?). Are you wedded to the idea of bookshelves, or are floorstanders a possibility? Did you get a chance to hear some LSi7 or LSi9? I think those would be strong contenders, although you need a good amp to drive that 4 ohm load. You might also try to get your ears on some Totem Mites. Depending on how much volume you desire, the Mites can give you a very impressive sound from a very small package.

    Cheers, Jim

If the Ramones can't pass the mustard on anything I own, than it is on to different climes. Same goes for The Cramps.
I'm glad you found a bit of heaven in your current system. The rest is just neurotically charged debt.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Sona,

I have all of the early Kate Bush recordings on vinyl. They're wonderful and greatly outshine their CD counterparts. I recall your post months earlier in which you suggested a desire to revisit a Kate Bush listening session. You'll need a turntable and a decent pair of speakers, imo, to accomplish that goal.

A used or new Rega P2 or P3, for example, shouldn't be out of your budget. Something along the lines of used Monitor 7s, 10s, or RTA12s would work for speakers. Then a decent little integrated. Just examples.

I'd hoped that by now you would have rediscovered that day. Oh well. I have to say that I'm disappointed.

    Best of luck.

    Two Channel Setup:

    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030

Zombie – it wasn’t my system that affected the SQ or the Ramones; it was the recording job and the 1979 B movie audio track.

Understand completely. My point being that if I am no longer able to enjoy that primordial ooze of a sound than this hobby has finally eaten my brain.

Or as pappy always said.. "You can't polish a ****".
Nor would I want to. Not that the Ramones are turds.

I’d love to hear what you think of these speakers as they must be ubiquitous, even if most of you if you had ‘em would have upgraded past them.

you gotta appreciate anyone on this board who can use ubiquitous in a sentence and even spell it correctly...someone give sona some speakers...

Glad you got it running. With so many options these days as you see, never trust in what you may believe to be a logical default mode, it is now quite normal to have to configure inputs and outputs.

I would check out some of the www.parts-express.com subs, they usually have daytona and advent models, low price and excellent for your particular need.
