A sad day for me....

My Xbox 360 has officially been decomissioned. It will no longer work...on Xbox Live.

M$ has officially put the Ban hammer out for modded 360's. This started yesterday. It looks like we were watched for a while. I have one box that is officially banned, and while the other works, I played Halo 3 beta on it yesterday, so I think/know that the writing is on the wall for that one too.

But on the other hand, all backups continue to work just fine, so it looks like a third non-modded 360 is going to be in the works for me...maybe I will get the Elite.

Am I sad...yes! Did I know this was coming....yes and no. But you lie in the bed you make so I am not taking this as hard as I thought I would. Did not play live all that much any ways.

    How can you tell when youre being watched on live. I wonder what gave you away, my friend has a modded box and has been on live for the longest. Granted his box is only modded so he can play any copied games,etc. What mods did you have?

    Considering I pay $60 for a game and you pay $1-$2 for a blank disk...I don't feel too sorry for you

    you never know you're being watched what happens is upon connecting to Live they scan your system to make sure everything is original basically like a virus scan my suggestion is ALWAYS use mods that allow you to turn them on or off .. and do not pirate games it just screws everyone who purchases them but by all means make backup copies because that little **** eats discs but DON'T sell them or put on torrent sites :(!

    Hmm was not seeking sympathy.

    Right now there are too many variables out there that no one know's for sure how M$ found a way. But the sad thing is there are a growing number of people with non-modded 360's that are getting banned. I personally think that they banned people that played games before release date. My modded 360 that is not banned has never played any pre-release games, but the older box that has played a lot of pre-releases has been banned.

    Again not sure how they are looking. But My mod was the DVD flash firmware. There are just a ton of variables right now...some people with a specific firmware flash are banned...others with the same flash are not (5 different firmwares). Same thing between the Samsung and the Toshiba, all are hit and miss. Some people have updated their firmware after the Spring update= ban, others did the same...no ban. I just think it really comes down to pre-release.

    Oh and my backup's still work so just no Live.
