OK, the linked article talks about Sammy Hagar's upcoming tour, but the below caught my eyes....
In related news, Hagar recently sold an 80 percent stake in his Cabo Wabo Tequila brand to an Italian beverage company for a reported $80 million.

 Wow! And here I was thinking that his tequila venture was just a side job.

You said it Carl.......I have always really liked Sammy's music, whether solo or when he was with Van Halen. The guy rocks! Kind of always thought the Cabo Wabo was quite a bit overpriced....guess this confirms it. I use regular Jose Cuervo in my cadillac margarita's and they are awesome. Has my taste buds watering and it's just 7:45am. I got to go......

I was told his lable was the single largest producing Tequila for export. I like the Cabo Wabo tequila, especially the Anejo. It used to be rare (around here) to even find it. I think it stacks up well against the more recent popular brands like Don Julio, Patron and Suarza.

My parents go to Mexico every year or so and I always have them bring me back some from the small estate bottled Tequila down there that don't get exported. Anejo is aged the longest and is the smoothest and most expensive. Respado is aged less and Plata is aged very shortly and is equivalent to you typical off the shelf Jose Quervo-allright for mixing (not for me). A margarita is only as good as the tequila and the freshness of the indredients.

    Rock on Sammy!!!

Sammy sure doesn't need to cash in on no stinkin' reunion tour for a last ditch cash grab like some others do now.:D
