Infrared remote

My remotes are both infrared for the HT. I am looking at a new HT stand with smoked glass doors. Will the remote work through the glass...or does it just depend on how dark it is?

I beleive the glass will impair the IR but not stop it from working. Darker does make it worse.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I have smoked doors on my cabinet, and my Harmony remote will still control it from the next room if I point it that direction.

Thanks...the Harmony universal my wife got me a year ago is the prize of my A/V collection....but I haven't had the courage to get back online and program it for the new preamp. I found the Harmony online interface to be a real maze.
