Are there HD DVD players that are able to do audio formats like SACD and DVD-A?

Doesn't matter if its an all in one 6 channel cable or 3 pairs of stereo, just make sure they are all the same brand, length, etc. The 6 channel cables just make it easier because they are all labeled and they tend to be more tidey. I've been using 3 pairs of stereo cables on my system for years with no regrets.
Whatever you do, don't buy cables from someplace like best buy. They are total ripoff. Shop online for cables and save a bunch. There are all kinds of affordable high quality cables out there.

Why, what do you think happens if one is six inches longer? Or a different brand?

If you got a good system and you have good ears, you will hear a difference between channels.

Leo, the terminology in your question seems a bit tangled-up and needs clarification. You speak of a "hd-dvd" player and SACD, but no present HD-DVD player plays SACDs. If you're not speaking of an actual HD-DVD player, but rather a regular DVD player(such as the Oppo)which happens to use "HD" as part of its model number, and also plays SACDs, then regular inexpensive cables from a source such as MonoPrice do the job as well as anything. There are no "specific SACD" cables.

Of course, regular expensive cables will always sound better.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
