It took just one story from a customer of mine......to visit the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon, the natives charge $50 per head to access their land...ok, fine, I can deal with that. Then, to get ON the Skywalk, they charge $25 per head, ok, fine, I can deal with that too. But then, they don't allow you to take pictures, THEY take the pictures and charge you $15 per picture....at that point, they can go F themselves.

So we booked a Carribean cruise with Carnival leaving from Miami on the 28th of July. This will be our first cruise and I'm looking forward to it.

I wonder if Darla can pick us up at the airport and escort us to the ship :p:p

Well Joe, it doesn't seem to matter whether you are in the USA or Canada, they both have same domestic problem. Man do I have a cure for that.
Anyway, hope you and the Mrs have a great cruise.

We go on a cruise just about every year. My wife really likes cruises and I like the Caribbean Islands and Mexico, so it works for us.

That's a good choice Joe; we madea cruise with Carnival like 8 years ago and it was the best vacations ever. We went to Cozumel-Grand Cayman-Jamaica. We always wanted to go back and take the eastern Caribbean cruise, but we haven't yet....some day.

    You'll love it.

Me and the wife visited the reservation there three or four years ago prior to the skywalk and it was cool just the way it was. I think we paid like $25 a piece including a great lunch. I think the sky walk ruins the place.

To get there it is a long drive along an extremely bumpy dirt road.

$25 is steep to you? What is this, 1964? I pay more than that for parking in some cases.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Thanks guys! We are both quite excited about this cruise, we booked one of those rooms with a balcony. I got a new Canon Rebel XTi for some quality picture taking and am committed to working 80+ hour weeks to pay for it all.

No matter though, I think it will be worth it and I'm convinced that it is a better plan than the Vegas trip.

Been on two Carnival cruises, the western and eastern caribbean. A couple of tips:
    1. Every afternoon go back to your cabin and take a nap, otherwise you'll be too tired to enjoy the late shows and midnight buffet.
    2. Save money by drinking lemonade and tea when not indulging in the alcohol, soda pop is a secret gouge.
    3. Try to have dinner at a big table, it's a great way to meet people, makes the trip much more fun.
    4. Always carry some singles and fives for tipping tour guides.
    5. Try the pumpkin soup, it's amazing!
    6. Do not even think of a diet, you're going to put on a few, just enjoy the great food.
