    Thanks Ron

    Quick question...

Will it hurt the Mono blocks since the heat sinks are on the outside (on the sides) to stand the amp upright with the faceplate upwards?

I'm thinking about putting them behind my TV standing upright.

    Thanks for any comments.

The air will not flow thru the heatsinks as designed and you'll probably encounter issues with the connections, so I wouldn't advise it.

    Yeah -

I won't be going away from Odyssey products for a long time. They are absolute BEAST in every right...

The Stratos line up is amazing.

    stratos%20interior.jpg

Theres the internals of the stereo Stratos.

I might end up with getting the Extreme Monos. They have a few more caps and the transformers. But thats a good bit more money.

My friend has the two-tone Stratos (the ones shown in the picture) with the silver vented top panel and silver front panel. Looks awesome.

I really like the mono design in general, you should be in for a treat, I have not personally experienced the Odyssey, but it sure seems they are well liked. I would go for silver and black, but that is an individual thing and really does not matter for the SQ, just how you like it, which does matter in the big picture.

They look powerful how fast are they??? Slew rate.

Can you move the rack and just put the amps between the speaks???

Thats the standard Stratos Monos I plan to get, I believe they are 120,000 UF per channel - which is pretty stout.

Plithron transformers is what I believe they use and sonicaps in the signal path...

You can upgrade to the Extreme Monos

Which utilize 180,000 UF per channel and two plithron transformers. Its an absolute beast, but a lil out of my price range.

But Klaus said that Mono blocks run at 100% and stereo amps run around 30-40%. And said that basically even Khartago monoblocks would do better than say a Stratos Extreme stereo.

So I am not to concerned about it.

I could not however find a slew rate on the amp. The damping factor is 800.

    I've gotta admit...
the Odyssey/Tyler synergy is undeniable. My upgraded Khartago has an iron grip on the Linbrook's woofer all while making the Sea Millenium tweet drip honey. On top of that, my source is for shinola right now.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. Yeah the Khartago is sweeeet.

How long did the previous owner use yours? The Khartago literally has a 3 month burn in time - and at that point it does a jeckle and hyde. Its nuts at how different the sound gets.

    ZB,

waaaaaaaaaaa I just noticed your sig, hope the wire is working out for you.

Those amps look like they are well designed. Sand amps do certainly have somethings going on in their favor.

    Ted,
Gotta give credit where credit is due:D Thanks again for coming through in the clutch. Gotta love this Forum:D Whenever you feel so inclined, please shoot me your addy so I can send a lil' somethin'-somethin' back to the Golden Isles.

    Trey,
That is a very good question. I'm thinking he had it longer than 3 months, but nothing's certain. I'll check the original receipt tonight. Need to register it too as a second owner. And see if Klaus will rip off the nameplate on the back and give it more of a ZB2K flava:p I'm fairly certain you had the upgraded version as well? I gotta tell you sound aside and "curtain and blinds" in... the bronze faceplate is rip, roarin' gorgeous.

Those should be the last amps you get!!!

I don't understand how some manufacturers decide to use their own specs; I don't think I've seen too many "uF" listed. So only WPC and uF"?
Belles for example, uses amperes....the 350a ref. has 64 amperes, whatever that means:confused::confused:
