No Sound

I've heard blown speakers before and they at least made some noise. I purchased some Ifninity SM85 bookshelf this weekend and they don't make a sound at all. I removed them from the cabinets and hooked them up directly and the woofers and tweeters don't make a peep. Nothing. Does this mean they were blown that badly or could it be something else?

Check all the "regular" stuff first, make sure you are connected to active speaker terminals off your receiver/amp. Make sure you select (if equipped) the correct speakers (A or B). Check all receiver settings. Try another set of speakers.

I did hook them up to active channels. I unhooked my rear speakers and tried running them from there. I ran the channel level setup and couldn't get a single peep from the speakers. I hooked up some other speakers to the SM85 crossovers to test them and they seem to work, but the speakers them selves just won't make a sound. I just found that to be odd. Usually blown speakers will make some noise. Each cabinet has one tweeter and one woofer. One of the tweeters will produce sound out of the four. The speakers appear in perfect shape. No tears or signs of abuse.
