Denon AVR 2803?

I am thinking hard about moving the Rotel separates I got and switching back to a HTR. I have read very good reviews on this (Denon) and wondered if anyone is using it. Engtaz, don't you have a 2807? I've listed my Rotel pre/pro and amp on audiogon to see if I can get a fair percentage of my money back. (I would have listed here but I figured I didn't have a long enough track record to try to sell).

What Rotel pre do you have, might have atrade offer for you.

I had a Denon 2802 for a few years. It was a solid receiver, but didn't really have the guts that I needed for my big room. I replaced it with a 4802 and couldn't be happier. I don't think the 2803 is much different than the 2802, maybe just an extra channel to make it 7.1. If you are going to replace separates, I'd recommend going for one of the higher models. 3803 at the least. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I've got the RSP-976. I bought it used from Audiogon and it is flawless from as near as I can tell. I also bought an RMB 1075 and they are just more than I need or the dear one wants. I do not run any video through my A/V system but do want enough power to fill a finished basement rec/media room. This was my first try with separates and although the sound is great, I am just more comfortable with receivers and the wife would be more comfortable with less expense in the system. -
no I have the Denon 4802 but all you need is the AVR to have plenty of audio and video inputs.

I did not know you had the same receiver.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -

Looks like you're not even using the amp section of your 4802. Kinda a shame, cuz its got plenty of balls. No, not 200wpc, but it sure makes my RT system sing pretty good. I'm really not as picky on my HT (compared to my 2-ch)For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

billbillw.....how you like the Denon DVD player. I see there is also a 2910. Not sure of the difference. With all this expensive equipment, I realize that my source (DVD) is an under $300 investment and it starts the whole thing going. That seems to be a good spot for an upgrade. -

I like my 2900. The 2910 is a step down in quality, but it has video up-conversion. The 3910 was a step up from my 2900 and can be had pretty cheap now on closeout, where its still available. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
Well, if the check arrives, I've sold the Rotel 5 channel amp. Audiogon has a good price on a Denon 1082, which apparently is the same as the 3802. Keeping in mind that I am only interested in the audio connections and decent power, not video, could this be a good pickup?
