Speaker Selection Check - Monitor 60s, 30s, & 90 Watts?

I have a Denon 2105 that is rated at 90 Watts/Channel.

I was planning on Montor 60 Fronts, 30 Surrounds, a CS2 Center and a PS12 for lows.

Think these are too big for my receiver?

[SARCASM] What, am I not spending enough money to rate a reply? [/SARCASM]

I'd like to step up the the RTi's, but I keep reading about how power hungry Polk speakers are, and so I would really appreciate some good advice!

    Thanks?

Hello and welcome to the Forum!
Your thread probably wasn't replyed to initially because it really wasn't posted in Primetime. Kind of got lost between the crack of the bed and the wall. That being said...

None of the Monitors you mentioned above are particularly "power hungry". Your Denon should run them just fine. What you have probably been reading slathered all over this Forum is how much the power the Lsi line-up requires. It's always a hot topic:D
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Thanks for the reply!

Do you think that I'd be asking too much of my Denon with I stepped up to the "Lower" RTi's?

    No...
but you may have issues with the Rti12's depending on the size of the room and how loud you like to savor this hobby.

How 'bout "room size" and "listening habits"?

I have those speakers (60s, 30s, CS2) and a bit better sub (Mirage Omni S12) and think it's great, especially for the money. Good value.

Sure, if I had $5K for a system, I might get something different. But, for the money, I have absolutely no complaints. I haven't really even thought about upgrading my HT. . . just 2-channel.

RTis would likely be better, but you'd end up buying an amp down the road to add to their already higher base price. So, it really depends on your budget.

I was just trying to sneak in through the back door before the "200wpc Brigade" comes charging in to pick his bank account clean.

Your Denon wil also drive the RTI's very well. If you acn swing the extra coin, they do sound better. I was running Monitor 40's, 30's and a psw 303 and was not real happy when it came to music.

Well, 95% of the usage would be plain ol' HD-DTV, the other 5% would be a mix of music and movies.
