I'm obviously biased and trying to sell my stuff.:)

I had a Pio 814 when I hooked thes up, the difference was not subtle , nor was it dramatic. It was definitely noticeable with a richer , fuller sound.
I don't know if the 914 I see in your sig has more power than the 814(100 watts per channel).

I'll give you the same kind of deal some companies do , try them, if you don't like them ship them back to me.

Of course there's a catch, you would have to pay shipping both ways.

These audiosource Amp 100's weigh about 10 lbs a piece, add for packaging, I'll estimate about 23lbs shipped from 60443.

To put it mildly, I am a little on the inexperienced side - what is a tube buffer?

I goes between a source and the preamp to add a 'tube' sound to solid state gear. Some you can run between amp and preamp to 'buffer' all your sources.

Sorry to de-rail the thread, but could this be placed in the loop between the pre-outs and main-ins in the back of something like my HK 3480? Essentially replace the pair of bars?

    Dude...

Ah, okay didn't read through the whole thread, figured the first post would have that info, but now that I look he probably hasn't seen your post yet.

I'd arm wrestle you for it, but you'd probably win, so I'll just save myself the embarassment and 'let' you have it (especially since you posted 3 hours before I did anyway). If/when you decide to sell it, I'll take it off your hands.

Dammit, am I going to have to read this entire thread.

Ok fine then, I'll just have to get my own tube buffer... :D

To tell you the truth, not even sure why it interests me so much, just figured it would be something easy to add and may make a difference. I've been eyeing the Musical Fidelity X10, just figured this would be a cheaper way to try the whole buffer approach, now I'll just have to go back to Plan A.
