My wife was looking up local garage sales on-line this morning and foud a few of the normal listings, and then came across one that said chairs, tables, clothes, tube stereos I'm like were going. So we get there and I see to console stereos and am like pfff so I browse arounf and see to old oscilloscopes, I ask how much for the scopes, he said you can have 'em both for a dollar one works, and the other doesn't. I told him I really don't have a need for them, was just interested in what you were asking for them. Then I turned around and walked to his garage, he followed. I asked him if the to console stereos were the tube equipment the ad was referring to. He said"Oh, your here for stereo equipment, follow me into the basement." This guy has a museum of vintage audio equipment spreed out in three rooms in his basement, some really cool stuff. He had stuff from the 20's-90's little table top radios to radios taller than me most of which was in mint condition and about 90% of it was tube gear. Nothing I would seriously listen to, but some really nice and cool unit. He asked me what I was looking for, and I told him tube preamps, and amps. "A chicano was here earlier and took it all" in his words. I told him I was also looking for a turntable which he had 3 one was an older Pioneer that looked really nice, but had no stylus. Then there was on with no name and was belt driven, and a Sony that was direct drive. I ended up buying the Sony nothing really fancy, but some thing to break my teeth on. He also had a Marantz integrated amp that looked very good and was some what weighty. He also had a couple of boxes of tubes. I bet if this guy was to sell this stuff off on e-bay he would get millions. I will likely go back one day with the digital in had and see if I can snap some pics for all to drool over. Backing things up a bit I saw one unit(one of the ones that was as tall as I)It was beautiful and I told him, he grinned and said you wanna see beautiful, he flipped open the door and pulled the "guts" out(on a sliding tray for easy tube replacement) and my jaw dropped. All I saw was tubes and chrome, not a blemish anywhere, and from somewhere around the 40's would be my guess. Oh yeah, he also had a few reel to reel players
Sorry to be so long winded but I was just in awe from what I saw. so for 20 bucks I ended up with this. I also included a pic of the rest of my electronics.

I found a flea market that sells most of there used lps and 45s for a buck each/ buy 5 get the 6th free. Now I just have to come up with a low dollar way to clean them. I've heard you can use a solution of water and a tiny bit of dish soap with a lint free soft cloth. Boston's- Boston I have on cd, sacd and now vinyl. I prefer sacd to cd, and vinyl over sacd now.
