HT receiver

Hi all. New guy here. Just bought a pair of Monitor 11 speakers, and now am looking for an HT reciever for a second system for a bonus room. I'm looking for something cheap, around $200, and definitely used at that price. I was thinking a low end HT receiver to get started with, but one with pre outs so that I could hook up a good quality amp for music. I've been looking at NAD and Rotel amps a little, but have never had anything but a reciever in the past, so I'm sorta lost on the amps as far as what to watch for to pick up a good one cheap. Same thing with the receiver... can anyone name a few HT recievers that would be decent for HT, cost around $200, and that have pre outs to hook up the amp for music?
Newbie question here... if I find a low cost amp and HT receiver, can I hook it up in a way that will bypass the HT amp section completely for music, so I get "good clean" sound, but still use the receiver for HT?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Welcome.
For $200 I am not sure. I used to own a Yamaha RX-V1500 and it was not too bad for HT, but I am sure there are others. You may try Denon, HK, Rotel, Marantz to name a few. How many channels?
The amp can be used as long as you have adequate preouts. That way you can hook the speakers directly to the amp and use the receiver as the processor.Michael
In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

As for the receiver, no idea...Thought I would pass this one on.... -
If you go to the Denon site they have some links to e-tailers that sell refurbed Denon stuff with a warranty. Not sure if there is anything out there for $200, but it's worth a look.

I found the lower end Yammies to be very good for the price. I think you can get a 3xx or 4xx series for about $250 on ebay.
