Lsi 7
I'm thinking of buy a pair of lsi 7's, but I have a few questions, are they good for home theater, and would my h/k 245 be able to push them or would I better off looking for something else?

Welcome, the LSi7's are great speakers, I don't know much about h/k but you can always add an amp if needed.Home Theater

The H'K 'will' drive them, but not to their full potential. You could always grab the speakers for now and upgrade to a better amp later down the road.
The LSi7 is a fantastic speaker, and will serve well in any application (music/HT) -
+1 to the previous posts.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

those are 4 ohm speakers I can't find if your HT can support 4 ohm speakers.
you do have pre amp outs so you could add a 200 watt external amp that supports 4 ohm speakersengtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
From what I have read here, these are far more forgiving in terms of driving them with an AVR as compared to the LSi9.....I would pick them up now, and make my next upgrade an external amp or a high current receiver of some kind..Such as a NAD unit or a Sunfire Ultimate Receiver II...That Sunfire is on the extreme end of the AVR spectrum, it is basically a Theater Grand Pre/Pro with a 200w/7ch. amp built in...It puts out 400w/7ch. @4ohms.....

You will really like the LSI 7, it is an award winning speaker, these boxes can fill a room with sound, you can also buy the rti6 so now you have two pair of high quality speakers, everyone needs two pairs of speakers minimun, kinda like needing a fork and spoon.
For sure the H&K will power the rti line, she is going to heat up some with Lsi.

if you have pre outs, even some cheap used seperate amplification will get the job done. not too much more of an investment, wether you do it now or in the near future.
if you run the 7's off the reciever, keep that bad boy where it can breathe.Living Room 2 Channel -

I have had a hard time explaining that to my girl...
The LSi 7s are good speakers, but here is an important question: What are you going to use them for mostly... I mean do you listen to music more than HT? If music, what do you use for playing your music... CD, PC, Vinyl? It;s important to know.
If you are going to listen to 75% music and 25% HT, I would do everything you could to find a better amp or receiver. If you use HT 75% and music 25% then you might be ok with just adding a seperate amp to the pre out on your receiver, or even consider different speakers. The LSi have more to offer for music listeners than HT, RTi have more to offer for HT than music. -

I just purchased the LSi7s 4 days ago from Tweeter (closing out sale) and from what I am reading here, these are power hungry speakers. I am also looking for an AVR to drive these speakers and was wondering why a 4ohm speaker is harder to drive than an 8ohm speaker? 4ohm means less resistance to current thus a receiver with specs: 110 watts @ 8ohms (Pioneer VSX-816K or VSX-917V-K) should be able to drive the LSi7s to its full potential correct? -
Down and dirty.
Because the speaker resistance is less more current flows, the receiver cannot keep up, heats up, clips and eventually damages the speakers and its power supplies/circuits. Some receivers just shut down.

The 7's will run fine from your HK. Like the rest of the LSi line, they will pay benefits with improved source or amplification, but the 7's are some of the few LSi speakers that will run ok from an AVR.
I had 7's all around in my HT (now using them just as rear speakers) and they were great. I have a large room and stepped up to the 15's. (Also got the 15's because I like towers...)
Give it a listen and decide for yourself....

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. I will now have to decide if I want to sell these or get the RTis instead to build my HT audio.
