Dream HT Setup?
We've had threads about your dream 2 channel setup, but what would your dream HT setup be?
Just speakers, subs and electronics. We're not talking room treatments, posters, popcorn machines, that sort of junk.
Let's have it.

I hope you jest in your statement. Saying that room treatments fall in the junk catagory is just obsurd. Without proper room treatments, you have no clue how your speakers & gear really sound. When putting a room together room treatments should be #uno on your list. Then the other less important stuff follows."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
I'm not saying that room treatments are junk, I was just hoping this discussion could more or less focus on the speakers and electronics.
Thats all. -

The speakers would be Tyler Acoustics (see pic).HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

For me it would be B&W 802Ds, with matching center, surrounds. I had a chance to demo them 2 days ago here in Japan. A drop dead gorgeous speaker, I just dont know if I need to spend the coin to buy them. Other than that, I just bought the JVC HD1, I would go with the Adcom 7807, for me Im close to living the dream. Maybe a lexicon pre/pro or something similar and of course 126 inch screen.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Right now for me it wouldn't be the speakers as much as the perfect/dream room set up. The right chairs, lighting and the proper panels around the room. I'm pretty happy with what I have except I would want a bigger screen.

LSI'15's, LSIC, LSIfx. Sunfire prepro with my Sunfire amp. I'd keep my Rotel CD player. I'd get an updated DVD player but I don't know which brand. But it would have to do both SACD/DVDA's.
I would get a new sub, but again I don't know which one. I don't think I want an SVS, I would want one that would blend better with music. SVS's tend to overwhelm.
This is all presupposing that I had a bigger space to put everything in so that once I set it up it would just stay put. Or if I had to switch something I would have enough space to walk behind everything.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

As long as they are Polks I am in, not intersted in any other sort of junk. I am thinking in-walls the Polk RTS line of in-walls. yea...................... with two in-floor floor SWA subs-Polk, they sound awesome. Cabinet or in-walls I want Polk.

So speaking of perfect gear, as I build the Reel Time Theater, I am considering a projector and screen. Or maybe not, 16 ft room by 14 8" wide.
