I'm not selling this, but I made an offer on this before I got my Ascends. 220w x 5 channels @ 8ohms. Would be an excellent HT amp. The guy accepted my offer of $950 shipped, much to my surprise, and now I feel bad saying I can't go through with the sale. He has quoted it to be in excellent condition, and has some positive feedback from members on the AVS forum.

If anyone is interested, please let me know so I can provide him some bittersweet news. I can give you his e-mail too. I just feel bad, cuz I hate being in his shoes.

That's a sick amp, but why did you sell the Sunfire just to make an offer on this? It seems like a parallel move to me? If I had the $$, I would do this...not a bad price from what I have found so far either.....Let me call the folks, they need a HT....

Dane, your HT possibly went through more gear than my 2-channel rig this past year. I think I'm done spinning my wheels for a bit. My HT has been stable for almost a year (okay, a month), and the 2-channel is just sounding awesome (just need a better stand).

What is your "master plan?" It may help you save time, money, and effort to sit down and think of what you want your system to be in the next year. Then, try to make as few moves as possible, wait for the best possible deals, and make it happen.

I loved swapping gear at first, but then I felt like I was running in quicksand. . . just making all these lateral moves and buying stuff just to buy it, even if it wasn't want I really wanted long-term. Now, I've got a bunch of stuff taking up room just sitting around waiting to be sold. Would've been better just to figure out what I really wanted and pounce on a good deal when that item came available (like the MF integrated).

YMMV. Sorry to crap up another FS thread. . . it's what I do.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to look out for my best interest. :)

In all honesty, the faded purplish finish on the Sunfire really bummed me out. It was just a sore thumb in my setup, and bugged me too much to not do anything about it. Hopefully the new owner can appreciate it more than I did. Sounded great though.

As far as my "master plan", I don't really have one. When I sold the Sunfire, it was with the frame of mind that it was complete overkill in our given space (which it was, as are the LSis) After it was sold, I started second-guessing my move, and had heard great things about Parasound, so I thought I'd give it a try. But then I stumbled upon the Ascend deal, and just couldn't pass it up. Relatively efficient speakers capable of being powered by my AVR, which could free up funds for debt relief OR to fund a 2-channel setup.

I really have no idea where I'll be living 2-3 years down the road, so commitment to a permanent HT rig really isn't that important to me. I'm enjoying getting some hands-on experience on different stuff to further develop my appreciation for this hobby. Taste buds can't like foods they haven't touched...

The other part of this is I really enjoy spending money. I love unpacking new equipment, and trying it for the first time. Turning around gear to buy different stuff is just my way of spending money without really spending that much. A lot of the time I can break even and have an entirely new rig.

I'm sure I'll settle down one day and want something permanent so it's not a hassle anymore. But for the time being, I'm enjoying being a home audio/video ****. :P

Sorry for the book. Onward with the FS listing! :D

Right on Dane!! Enjoy the journey. There's too many fish in the sea. I've never quite understood the "do it right the first time" concept. It takes so much fun out of this hobby.

If you're not spending too much money. Or better yet, nothing at all by flipping and releasing, then you should be having a time of it.

Then again, I could just be an enabler.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Yes you are,
But it's not like any of us actually need any encouragement.;)

Sorry if I was preachy. I love swapping out gear as much as anyone, and if you are prudent with purchases, you can try everything you want and break ever or even put a little extra in your pocket.

I was more than anything just curious what you were going towards next since you seemed to have a great setup with the LSis and Sunfire.

I actually came out $250 ahead on my display in the end, and the new one IMO is much better than the Samsung. That's how it works sometimes. But don't worry about it Andy. You're not the only one wondering if I'm ever going to sit down and enjoy something for a little while. ;)

I just got an e-mail back from the seller. He said he had no problem with listing his contact info, so here it is:
