PSW10 Hum/Popping help?

Hi,

I just hooked up my PSW10 and like others I'm having issues with it humming.

I tried 3 outlets, with the volume on the sub all the way off, I can still hear some humming and popping. I can hear from a few feet away.

This wouldn't be an issue, but I live in 750sq/ft condo so it's right by my couch and it's driving me insane.

Would one of those power bar filters help? All the electronic stores in my area tell me I should get one because I live in a downtown highrise and our electricity and cable is "dirty" ??????

Disconnect the TV cable (as in TV cable from the wall) but leave the RCA sub cable connected to the sub.

If the noise is gone with the TV cable disconnected and the RCA input to the sub still connected, you have a TV cable grounding problem.

If the noise is still there with the TV cable disconnected and the RCA input to the sub still connected, go to step 2.

    2. Disconnect the RCA cable from the sub. If the noise is goes away with the RCA cable disconnected from your sub, it is coming from somewhere in your audio rack.

If the noise is still there with the RCA cable disconnected from your sub, it is coming from your powerline into the sub or the sub's amp itself. In that case a bar filter may help but its not too likely.
