So I think I've decided on the LSi7 as my new speakers, looking to see if anyone has any for sale.
My local Tweeter has a pair that they'll sell me for $500, is that too much? I know I can snag these on eBay for $350 or so, but I'm not comfortable doing that. I'd like to either buy them retail or from someone here that I can trust.
If anyone has some that you're willing to sell, speak up. Tweeter only has 1 pair left, so I'm probably going to stop by on the way home tonight and pick them up unless I find some here.
Thanks

If you don't want to buy from ebay, I would say the ones at Tweeter would be a good deal.

I still don't understand the ebay fright. I guess if you were only going to use it one time you could get ripped and never recover.

I'm not afraid to do business on eBay, I do it all the time.
To tell you the truth, it's not the potential for defective product or possibility of a bad transaction that's driving my decision not to buy there, as I've had hundreds of transactions on eBay and haven't run into any real problems.
I know it doesn't make any sense, but when I have a company like Polk Audio that I have a loyalty towards because they've alway taken care of me, I don't like to buy their stuff on eBay if I can avoid it. I feel like I'm doing them a dis-service when I do that.
I would generally feel the same about buying from any individual and would normally rather just buy retail to 'support' the company, but the fact that Polk has put the flea market on their siteindicates to me that they encourage trading of gear within their community, so I'm okay with buying from someone here.
I know that's an illogical argument because by the time I've bought the product on eBay, Polk has already made it's profit, etc etc etc...but that's just how I choose to operate. -
Cool morels!!engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I'll sell you a pair of mine for $350, if that's a fair market price. They were used only for surrounds duty in my 5.1 setup until I got a pair of 15's for mains and moved the mains to surrounds. They are now set in bedroom but I hardly ever use them so might as well sell. Cherry pair with original box.

I'll take 'em, PM sent...

Nice snag. Throw them on a nice integrated and enjoy!
7's allow you a lot of flexibility with regards to amplification as they aren't quite as hard to drive as the 9's/15's. I could think of a lot of good options in the $400 - $600 range. . . hell, maybe even cheaper.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Just remember anywhere you buy "new" Polk speakers, Polk ahs already made their money on the product. Sure buying used doesn't line Polk's pockets but used is a viable alt. with almost any product and shouldn't being viewed as be disloyal to the company.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. This is true, but if said retailer begins to run low on stock of Polk speakers because they are selling well, they will order (purchase) more stock for inventory.
But, if you buy someone's used speakers, they will probably buy new ones, and if they buy polk, that is a good thingStereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Now you'll be supporting a future audiophile, my unborn son, as I'll propably put this money into his college fund. -

I just figured you were afraid to. What you are talking about here seems reasonable and keeps people in business. I often do this with hobby stuff (like RC cars) to help keep the local sellers in business. I guess it applies to a company too in some round-about way.

I agree with your reasons. That's why I don't buy used yatchs or used Gulf Stream Jets.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

That's I don't buy used yatchs or used Gulf Stream Jets.Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all
