I bought this amp from George Daniel some months ago; it was the "normal" Belles 350a. Sent it to Dave Belles for the upgrade to 350a "Reference". Basically a complete circuitry change. The only thing that is still there from the original are the heat sinks and the top cover. The chassis was also changed (bonus) because the printing in the back of the original had faded. Since the face plate also changes, I asked for silver instead of the original black. That's the story.

Upgrade is $1,500. I bought it for $1,350 (I tried to make George drop it fifty bucks but I think he laughed at me ).

New reference is $4,000.

I think so too; basically I got a new reference with 5 years warranty for the price of a used one.

I came really close to Buying your Belles 350 from George when he put it up for sale but i hesitated . you wont ever need to buy another Power Amplifier again now that you Have the Ref 350 Mods :cool: Congrat's....WCW III

I believe you are right. I won't say never, but after being with it for a while I can say it's going to be very tough (and probably expensive too) to find a better sounding amp. I'll keep this and one of my TAD-60's for a long time.

Congrats Ric. . .that is what I want. I want a power amp or mono blocks that I can sit down and say, I'm done with this part!!! (atleast for a while).

Ric you had me scheming last night as to how I could get the funds to purchase a really good stereo amplifier like yours. I would love to get a used Krell or something of the sort. I've got upgradeitis and every time I listen to my rig although it sounds gooooooood, I know I missing something.

Well if I sell my projector, NAD AVR, HT speakers, two sets of CRSs, a turntable, and a few other choice things I might be able to come up with the coinage to get me a truely high end amp to go with my high end preamp.
