sony amp w/ 2 mm120s?

i got a good deal on a sony amp a while back (it's the 1000w class d mono amp that's black). I've been running 1 mm120 off of it all this time and it sounds excellent. a few weeks ago, i purchased another momo 12" and now i'm wondering if this amp will hold these 2 subs?

i can't really afford much else and my only other option would be to just hook the new sub to my other 4 channel sony amp (XM-475GSX) that's on my other speakers. any suggestions?

    ok.. first off.. that sony 1000 d block is a mono block amp and momo's are 4 ohm subs, so two of them in parallel is a 2 ohm load.. so it'll work.. right now u're proly gettin 500 - 600 to one sub... with them both on u'lll get 1000 / 2 = 500 per sub. but it might be a little muddier - more distortion, but chances are u wont be able to tell because its bass for god sake :o)

    a word of wisdom here though... i've heard this a lot "well i got no other choice but [insert some really not good idea] because i've got no more $ to spend" --- idea here friend... and i'm not gettin on your goat, i'm just tryin to help you out...

    don't buy it unless you need it / have the proper materials to make it work right. Momo's and all the other polk (or any other reputable brand for that matter) stuff isn't not cheap... so why abuse it and put it on the wrong amp and blow it to smitherines? If you got a good deal on a momo 12 so u grabbed it now.. great... but if you didn't have the amp to use it just yet, put it on the shelf and save it until you do get the amp... in you're case, you're lucky.. that d block sony is fine. just food for thought. :o)

    ya... i know.... i despise sony with all the hate that is within my body... HOWEVER.. older sony (pre-xplode days), the mobile ES lines and the older amps were "decent" -- nothing spectacular but of comparable quality to your current JBL's and what not.

    I could tell the kid, "buy two alpine mrv1507's and run one to each sub for maximum clarity of sound / dampening / low thd / and high power"... but i doubt htat'll wash... actually on that note...

    the jbl bp 1200.1 would be very good to push two momo's with.. 1200 at 2 ohms and 13.8 volts isn't shabby... it doesn't have a subsonic filter, but oh well... ya make due with what u got, that amp is only like 250 on ebay now a days :)
