360 HD player goes **** up!

I don't understand,the green light is on,you can hear the disc turning but no video or sound.Damn,I don't have warranty anymore on it.Aybody know some trouble shooting that the book doesn't tell you?

How long ago did you buy it, was it under a year ago? If so, then it should be covered. Regardless I'd call the 1800 number and give them a try.
If the problem is the drive, which I've heard of before, you can buy replacements online.

I bought the player on ebay,warranty was out.This thing gave out right in the middle of the movie,I have tried unplugging everything,different disc,using the setup disc again,it's a no go.Wierd thing is that it threw no warnings,the green light is still on and you can hear the disc turning.

reason I paid for 3 year warrenty. Too big of a investment to be running MS software.

I forgot: I already had one red ring of death me and was giving a brand new one to replace it. same day @ Sam's Club.

Well it's off to BB or CC for a new one tomorrow,there seems no fix for it after calling microsoft.I just wonder if I shouldn't just buy an upconverting HDMI player and let the 360 be a game console.

There are some pretty cheap 2nd gen Toshiba players to be had now. You really should check the online deals before you go back to the add-on. $200 would go a long way to a much better player.

That's kinda what I was thinkin' chedd.I just want a player with a warranty now,and I'm not to sure about these add on players,I've heard quite a few stories about this 360 player not doing what it's supposed to half the time.And I'm not knocking any consoles out there,I would just feel safer with a stand alone.

DITCH the add-on player. get a stand-alone. wish i had done it from the beginning. my probs, as well as countless others are what m$ finally agreed to be that the player is perpetually stuck in 'night mode', thus the sound is attenuated and 'undynamic'. also, there are lip sync issues. the supposed fix is supposedly due may 7 through 11, but i'll believe it when i see it. it's been six months of waiting for the fix. and it had better work!

I have had enough bad luck with stand-alone DVD players that I don't know where to go next. Everytime I turn around I am replacing another one. No there not Apex or GTP. LOL

Well I asked the guy I got this from where he got it and he told me Walmart close to where I live,so I'm going to wally world!

Just got back from wally world,they gave me a new one with a brand new reciept,I'm out no money.It don't get better than that.:D Oh I forgot to add that when I told the manager what the problem was he rolled his eyes and said "again"?Meaning they are getting loads of returns on these,I asked him what the return status was on PS3 and he said about the same as the 360 gear.

How much are hddvd player running these days , you would probably be better off getting a stand alone player anyways...

Good to hear it all worked out. Nothing like getting a retail replacement on an ebay purchase. Hope this one works out for ya...

Thanks cheddar,the one good thing about walmart is if you have a reciept you have an exchange.And now I have a reciept.I'm still thinking of going with a Toshibe player though.
