I've been very interested lately in vintage polk speakers, I searched and didnt see anything in the forum about these. They look like they could be one of the greatest speakers polk ever made. any info?

They're my favorite. Try 2.3tl* without quotes as your search word:

There's tons of info about every SDA speaker made in here. Like Polk65 said, try different search word combo's.

BTW, they are my favorites too.

Why do you like the 2.3TLs better than the 1.2TLs?

(I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about SDAs so that when the day comes where I can afford them, I can make the educated decision.)

SRT's use SDA technology and produce both a deep and adjustably wide soundstage however they don't sound the same to me as SDA speakers. They deliver a thrilling home theater experience with tactile bass but my ears prefer the sound from SDA speakers for music.

Your ears may localize tweeters and depending on the height of your listening position you may prefer to sit above, below or at ear level. 2.3's (and other models) are at a nice height for medium size rooms and a standard chair. I like sitting at ear level to tweeters so would have to sit a little higher for 1.2's. I wonder if Luc ever bought a barber's chair.

This is just my opinion. Listen to as many as you can and somewhere out there you will find the ones that tickle your ears.

It was a choice between 3.1's and 2.3's for me. I chose the 3.1's only because they were closer. 2.3's are great speakers.
