Psw111

I have been looking to purchase another entry level sub for my small living room. My PSW303 has done a decent job over the past years but I am left wanting a bit more.

I noticed that Polk has the PSW111. Anyone heard/bought this sub? On paper, it looks like it would be a perfect solution to my setup. One concern I have is the port being on the bottom of the enclosure. The sub would be placed on carpet...would I be best served to place this sub on a piece of stone tile? Does it matter?

In advance, thank you for any help/ideas.

Looks like a nice sub. I don't think placing it on carpet would be a problem as long as the feet raise it up above the carpet enough to "breathe" but I'm new to HT and certainly not an expert. I looked at the online manual for that sub and didn't see anything mentioned about it having to be on a hard surface

Also, I sent you a PM just in case...

The PSW111 doesn't look like it would perform as well as the 303.

    303 Overall Frequency Response 28 - 200Hz, -3db at 35hz
111 Overall Frequency Response 38Hz-250Hz, no -3b point given, but I would expect 45hz or higher.

I noticed this when I was looking at the specs on the PSW111. Having a very small room and in relation to where I sit and my sub is placed, I thought I would never really be able to experience the very lowest hz from my sub.

After staying up late and doing some research, I decided to purchase a second PSW303...problem more than solved.

Thanks to everyone for the help and info.
