The plastic tabs on the frames that push on to the speaker have broken off.

If you are talking about the cylindrical tabs that hold the inner screen against the frame, and are set in rubber seats, that is a pretty easy fix with super glue. I have fixed many of those tabs on several LS speakers. It works best if you pull them from the seats in the same orientation, so that the fracture aligns well.

If you are talking about the 4-point tabs that hold the outer frame on, well, good luck, and let me know if you find a way to fix it.

First you build my hopes up and then you trash them, its the 4 point tabs that hold the outer frame.

Well, I have one pair of LS50's with every single tab broken off of both inner and outer frames. I am hanging on to it for spare drivers (it's that rather unappealing light maple finish). If I really wanted to re-attach the outer frames, I would us a black-finish #6 pan-head sheet metal screw drilled through the front face of the frame, into the cabinet. It wouldn't look too bad if it was neat and symmetrical. You can get screws like that from Parts Express.

I thought about doing that also, I think I might try the wood dowel as mentioned above first though, What a dumb mistake by Polk though.
