Damn, Scott. Terrifically ballsy move. Did you just throw a dibs / PM sent combo on $2200 of speakers in the first 3 hours of an FM thread?
That is awesome. Take 'em all home. Great speakers at an awesome price. Can't see anyone doing better with $2K for a set.

So much for a stagnant Flea Market. Looks like the Polk economy is finally turning around. Way to go guys.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Turns out I'm not going to need the center channel (my brother in law is going to give me his in the same color whilst he gets a whole new rig), but am still going to buy it because I committed to getting the whole set. If anyone needs a CDM CNT, now would be the time to chime in. All respect to Venom, please comment if you have a problem with this post and I'll remove it promptly.

You bet!! I recently moved out of the US, so had to shell out $200 to convert the Krell voltage input from 110V / 60Hz to 220 V/ 50Hz. It was worth every penny :-)
Will have to upgrade to 802d's one of these when I win the lotteryDistant Dream - A New Beginning

Yes I remember you were deciding whether to do the 220v conversion, glad it worked out for you. I have heard great things about the diamond tweeter.

Yup, I did end up spending the $200 and convert the Krell to 220V - it was worth it since it was through a Krell dealer and it sounds as good as it did sitting at my home in Connecticut
How are your new speakers working out for you? You will need to write a review of those vs the B&Ws. And how about some pictures?
My friend has those 802d's but now I can't drop over to his place and listen so I'll have to get my own one of these days :cool:Distant Dream - A New Beginning

Hi Crazy,
Once you go Krell you just can't go back lol. I do business a lot in Europe and see the 220v units all the time in various places. One B&O dealer I went to in Amsterdam was also a B&W dealer and he had some cool stuff we do not get to see often in the U.S.
Check out this thread for the Gallo pictures:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51539
These are a whole different animal than the B&W's. I was going to get some 804S's and went to demo them before I bought these, I favored the Gallo tweeter and a bit livelier performance. The 804's were very nice, but not for me. The next step was 803's but with the price jump they were more than I was willing to spend.
Bass is superior on the Gallos in their price range compared to B&W. They go down to 34hz and 22hz with the optional sub amp. Highs go to 50khz abd a 320 degree soundstage. I find black level to be a lot lower on the Gallos for some reason, perhaps because there are no crossovers in the midrange. There are no ports to tune and bass is very tight and fast, no bloat at all.
They are still breaking in so I cannot do a full review yet but hopefully soon. So far I am very impressed, my wife heard a difference and for what I paid for them they are a steal, a steal even at full retail.
There are some 800D's at a dealer near me but I did not get to demo them because that dealer is an A-hole.

Venom, glad to hear that you're enjoying your new speakers - at the end of the day its important to own speakers that suite your needs and I'm glad these fit the bill for you. I can so clearly remember the joy of listening to 2-channel music again once I got my setup together.
Next on my list is the Krell SACD player. But I'll have to get that from the US as well since prices here are too much.
Looking forward to a detailed review soon :-)Distant Dream - A New Beginning
