You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. I actually expected it in the late '90s when it crossed 10K then 11K in less than a month after that (then the bubble burst).

It's nonsense. It is NOT an indicator of general economic health.
Used to be. As we saw before, it became all smoke and mirrors.
A couple of guys could swing it any way they wanted it to go.
I think it will be very short lived bull market.

I just like the fact that my retirement accounts are mirroring (an almost exact multiple of 10) the Dow right now at about a 1.1 Beta so I'm a happy camper. Plus my company of 73 people just reported earnings of $1.05MM for the first quarter. All the good economic news I need.

    Peace!

Yeah, now if he'd only be a little fiscally conservative when it came to budgets the country would really take off. But no, he has to increase the size of the government at a faster rate than even Billy boy...

This bull market has been going on since the Reagan tax cuts of the 80's!!

The Dow first started growing like a weed in the early 80's, then took a hit around 90 but had so much momemtum that it was springing back by 92 and has been growing steadily ever since! Tax cuts and supply side economics work every!

Yup, the Dow wasn't hit THAT hard in the 99-01 downturn. It was the high tech NASDAQ bubble that was destroyed. I would say the DOW is a very good indicator of the general health of the ecoonomy. late 98- early 2002 was a recession as was late 91 to early 93. Both times the dow moved the direction of the economy.

Nasdaq just uses the best/largest performing stocks in it's rating, DOW tends to be large, more stable companies that have solid financials, PE's, and long history of industrial growth.

Reaganomics. The liberal media had a hayday blasting those policies.
