For a change of pace, I swapped out the oriface rig yesterday.....the Dave is soon to be garage rig material....

The NEW lineup

Fisher CA-800 'the fish' Integrated amp
Fisher Tuner
Technics POS 5-disc changer
Boston Acoustics A40 speakers.

Not that anyone cares, I just thought I'd share....

Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I refrain from the obvious punchline.....

Ever had a problem burning up tweeters in those little Bostons? Shared a house for a year with 3 other guys while in college, one had a pair of A70s that were just too.. squishy.. for my taste. Another had a pair of 40s that (due to his own fault) went through a few tweeters (he was running them off a cheap cheap Sony receiver that clipped at I think about a watt and a half). Our 'mains' were a pair of homemade rockers, each with a Peavy 10" woofer in a ported box and and a horn tweeter, running off a Yamaha 80wpc receiver. God those things were loud. Sold them to a fraternity house when I graduated. We listened to the A70s for some music, the home-mades for parties and while getting sloshed before heading out to the bars.

No, these A40's, I've only had a couple of months.....Many moons ago, we had A100's in our house that took some abuse but never fried a tweeter. Matter of fact, bdm has that pair and is awaiting new 10" drivers but the tweeters are still the same.
