1-**SOLD**
The Disney Classic “Song of the South” a movie (musical with cartoons charactors as well as real people) about how wonderful living in the south was during slavery (right). The Movie was so controversial that it was never released in the US on anything but VCR tape. This version of the ‘Song of the South’ is a Japanese Pressing with English in the right channel and Japanese in the Left Channel. This is a Rare disk and is seldom seen. There are DVD’s of it around, but it was NEVER released on DVD, in Japan or anywhere else so the DVD’s are probably ‘re-creations’.

The Classic Star Wars, the original 3 Movies (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi) in CLV format on Laser Disk. The Movies come in a large box which used to contain a hardback book (which has since been lost or absorbed by my brother).

I remember the good old days of the laser disks. They had the best sound and picture. Much better than VCR tapes. I had 3 players and still use one for movies that are only laser disk. I had a friend that owned a rental store that went to Japan and would import the LD version of the movies that were excellent and letter boxed. His store rented LDs! People would complaint that the top and bottom of the movie we missing and wanted their money back. He had a hard time explaining that the tapes were the problem in that they cut off the sides of the movie.

    Good luck selling the movies.

    G-2 is a great seller.
I thought it was fairly amusing also. The Polk Ogre doesn't always get 'it'

By selling the laserdiscs off the only thing your giving away is the differences in those Star Wars Dolby stereo THX laserdiscs, granted the mix on those versions differs from the early versions on laserdisc where they have the original sound mix as heard on the original 35mm prints not to sure about the 70mm six-track Dolby prints I guess some have the some sound except STAR WARS which had different sound mixes for the optical monaural version, the Dolby stereo optical A type had differences as well from what I’ve read about it.

And lastly the “road show” 70mm six-track Dolby stereo A type with “Baby Boom” you know this should have been release last year but looks George wasn’t listening to the audience this time round.

Anyway I’m keeping my laserdisc collection and the STARWARS films I have only but one of the early editions on laserdisc Return of the Jedi and yes the princess is panned to the left screen channel just like in the original 1983 release.

"Well looks like I’m stuck here. Trouble is I don’t know where is?"

You’ll not hear this on the THX laserdisc nor the special edition laserdisc 1997 nor the 2004 DVD versions. This what makes the laserdiscs so good to keep and hold onto, part them because of some newer version on DVD is coming out?

Yes by all means part with them if there is no differences in the two versions, keep the DVD and sale the laserdisc.

I also have transferred the THX laserdisc versions over to DVD-RW as well as a rare PAL laserdisc that was pressed back in 1982. Haven’t done the other SE 1997 versions yet or the early version of Return of the Jedi.

And mind you these transfers are for my own personal only within the confines of my home.

I call dibs when you want to sell. How about a gratuitous pic of Leia welding?
