Someone was discussing the AV123 SP3 tube integrated and Ref 1 monitors for $1199 here earlier. So, that would be an easy one-stop shop for new gear.

But, if I were to go cheaper and used on a tube gear combo, I might look at some jolida amp/pre or one of their integrateds and maybe some totem mini-mites.
Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

The Rega P1 "record player" just got a pretty great review by Art Dudely in this months Stereophile Vol. 30 NO. 5 page 61. His last sentence in the review was, "Very strongly recommended." You get the Rega P1 turntable, Rega RB100 tonearm, and Ortofon OMB 5E moving magnet cartridge for $350. Ya can't beat that no matter how you look at it as a starter turntable. The Rega P2 with its bundle is $525.

Now I am a VPI guy and have only heard not owned Rega tables which are very good but when a deal like this comes up and I find people who are interested in getting into vinyl or back into vinyl, I would feel remiss in my duties as a vinyl junky not to mention this deal.

Ya can't go wrong with a VPI PERIOD but if you have $350 you will be getting a lot of good tunes here in that I've been reading Art Dudely for quite some time and find his tastes in music and equipment on the mark.

You can get a tube phono pre for under $200. . .I believe the Bellari phono pre is now well below that .

I could be tempted to sell my Jolida SJ-801. Tung Sol 6550's, EH 6SN7EH's & JJ 12ax7. This thing has been my fave for a long time, but I'd be willing to share if the timing was right. (and first offer to buy back was granted to me)

70 wpc into 8 or 4 ohms. 140 wpc peak. Read the specs below. This unit was owned by Clyde (The Glide) Drexler. I aquired this piece along with several other NICE pieces of his collection.

Yes it really is me! :)

I've been all over, but back in Texas since October of '06. Settling in a little... bought a house... becoming domesticated (as much as a single man can).

I may do one more overseas gig before I truly settle down as I approach my 30's.

Thanks to George for the heads up on the ASL's, and maybe the Parasound pre. I'm excited about the chance to play with some new gear. :)
