It's a long-shot, but does anyone have a spare of the following?
  • MW6500 (used in Monitors with Peerless tweets). 2nd choice would be a MW6503
  • 8" Passive Radiator from Monitor 5
I'm trying to restore a pair of 5As I found locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

    Thanks,

Hey Adam, I don't have a parts list in front of me, but aren't one of the passive radiators in the RTA-11T a match? Something to consider if they are the same part number. If not, I wonder how either one of those PR's would work........it would be interesting to try if you came across one ;) .

Good luck and sorry I couldn't help you.

No affiliation or endorsement, but I noticed that this place called Oaktree out of Colorado Springs deals in some used Polk audio parts. They specialize in vintage gear. Got something from them a few yrs ago.

PM sent to Loud & Clear.

And Neil, thanks for the tip. I've stumbled upon their website in the past.

Took the pr out tonight - no part # on it, just a hand written date.

Also took out the damaged, non-Polk driver. Fortunately, that driver fit without the person needing to modify the opening or drill new screw holes. They fortunately didn't mess with the crossover when they put in the non-Polk driver.

The part number for the PR is SW83 and as I suspected that is one of the PR's used in the RTA-11T's as well the other lower freq PR is the SW81.

    H9, thanks.

I just sent L&C a couple pics to compare to his.

I also plan to post some observations on these 5As tonight in my original thread in the Vintage Forum.

Still need to find a MW6500...
