I have never been a fan of Bo$e, but I do have to ask about this amp I found. It's the model 1801, and it claims to offer 400wpc. This is all I have really found about it... and 400 bones is a lot for Bo$e.

82lbs, 1100 watts measured into 2ohms.. bose or no bose, that ain't too shabby. Then again, i've never heard it. Ask the seniors like Russ, F1, Doro and Troy.. maybe they have.

That looks like one of the products back in the day when Bose was actually into quality audio - and lacked a marketing dept.

I have four of those beasts as well as a Bose 1800 model. Very powerful, very heavy, and very cool looking. However, $400 is waaaaay too much for one unless it is in MINT condition. I've bought them for as low as $150 and as high as $400, but that one was mint. The highest I've ever seen one sell for was $725, and that one was virtually brand new.

Well I'll e-mail the guy and see what comes of it. It couldn't hurt to have a chat. The specs are pretty intense, but can anyone comment on the sound quality?

Maybe you didn't what my opinion or you didn't understand it? A beast but will sound dead / lifeless IMO with a slew rate of 10v ms. It's in a league all by it self, on the bottom.

Oh, thank you. I was a little confused and didn't mean to be rude. I'm still figuring out the finer technical details of the electronics world and all that lies there within. :o

I've seen a couple. I've heard one (hooked up to a pair of 901's)....I actually thought it sounded good. Not accurate or my cup of tea but I see the attraction.

The amps are beasts and for SS amps of the day, were supposed to be quite good.
