New Amp & a question

Hi Folks,

When I started this expensive hobby about 6 months ago, I was strictly going for an HT setup with no interest in dusting off my 300+ CD collection. Now after 6 months of tweaking & watching movies, my interest in music is back. I just struck a deal to buy a used Earthquake Cinenova Grande 5. I plan to replace my existing Outlaw 7700 if the new amp proves to be better for music & the same or better for HT. I thought the Outlaw was heavy; it looks as though the Earthquake is about 40lbs heavier. I’m hoping the Earthquake will tame the highs from the Rti10’s a bit and give them just a little more power.

I’m also in the process of changing all interconnects & speaker cables so I have a lot of work to do over the next few weeks. I currently have BetterCables brand cables and I am replacing them with Audioquest throughout. Don’t worry, I won’t change everything at once…

I did notice that the amp did not have the balanced connections. This is fine for me since my Denon 4306 only has unbalanced pre-outs but I’m wandering if other amp manufactures offer this as an option or this amp just an older model?

It is not a common option, majority HT receivers common with out balenced.

I wonder how common this is. I started out in the same boat with HT as the main issue. After a few months I was back to music (and spending more money)
