I just got through taking my old broken amp out because the new should be here next week sometime,I noticed on the volume pot that one of the two wires from it is kinda of burnt and loose right at the solder on the pot, could this be the reason for my amp shutting on and off?

Burn marks with electronics is never a good sign. It usually is a good indication of where the trouble originated.

Well I guess there's nothing to do but clean the end and re solder it.Hell maybe I'll have a back up amp!LG 50 in. Plasma

I guess it wont hurt to try, but I would try it with the old driver. (I think I read you got a new driver and amp?)

Well after the guy at SVS told me there would be no difference in the driver I have now and a new NSD I nixed it for now,I might just upgrade to a newer sub.I had planned on something newer anyway so this sub is generally an SVS intro to me,and I was pleased!LG 50 in. Plasma

I might be a little reluctant to try that amp then after re-soldiering it. But thats just me being a little over cautious. That would suck to blow the driver trying to mess around with a amp your not even going to be using.

This is great,I had a friend come over tonight, the guy is a person that can usually fix anything. He looks at the amp and the spot I show him,he says that he has an infinity sub and had the same problem with it and cleaned up the ends and resoldered it with no problems,I told him I was kinda scared about messing with it because of the driver,so he begs me to let him fix it and I won't be sorry! He goes home and comes back with a solder gun and solder, takes him about 10 min. and we put the amp back in.The sub has been running for almost 2 hrs. without a problem.Well i guess I'll have a back up amp in case the new one ever quits on me.:rolleyes:LG 50 in.
