Value of used Equip?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a catalog listing prices of equipment (Like the Kelley Blue Book for cars). I can usually get an idea from ebay of what the public is willing to pay but want to know if there is acual guideline out somewhere (or site).

For instance, I have an Onkyo receiver TV-SV525 that I replaced with Onkyo's TX-DS777 model and am not sure of what price to ask for it.

Other possible sales include PolK Audio RT7 (2), CS245, and M1 (2).

Thx. AZ

Are you in NY or AZ? Just curious.........

I have no idea as to where you'd find somethin like that. I'd imagine that something would exist for really high end stuff, but I'm thinkin that Ebay would be your best bet.

Most, if not all, high end shops or pawn shops have these blue books. Just give them (I had not tried the pawn shops) a call, they normally would be happy to give you the price ranges, i.e. trade-in and retailed values.

    Scott,

Man, I'd suggest STRONGLY that you hold on to the RT7's! Trust me, you won't sleep at night knowing that you let them go!

From what I've seen on ebay, whether it is a month old or 10 years old the same prices apply unless there is a format issue like Dolby pro-logic vs Dolby digital or something. Normally, 40 to 50% of list is a great deal and 60% of list is OK. This is assuming it functions. There is a standard for depreciation but I'm not sure what it is.

For that matter the 245 would be quite good too. Drop me a line if want to sell and you don't mind shipping overseas.

My mistake, my center is actually a CS-250S, not a 245. I will most likely keep the 7's, their true value is worth much more than their re-sale value I see. Thanks for the offers though.

150 is as rich as I can go. World travel, nice green New Zealand, give them a nice retirement. :)

Nas? I wonder how many of us are sitting round thinking we could do with a pair of these.

still interested in the centre even as a 250.

If you have the room, and can afford to, keep your equipment . If
nothing else you can put it in another room. Make a surround sound system for your bed room. I don't know how I can but I want to keep all my equipment even if/when I upgrade. So it takes a little more time to get what you want. It's ok- Keep It!

There is a book w/used values of audio equipment. It's entitled the Orion Blue Book and most pawn shops as well as audio shops will refer to this for trade in value as well as establishing sales prices. I've seen these used in pawn shops and they're never cheap, at least $50 for an outdated one (they are published annually).

I'm aware and have seen separate volumes for pro audio (sound reinforcement), audio equipment, musical instruments, car stereo, photographic equip). I'm sure there are more too...

Yeah, unless you are absolutely in need of moving them keep them. I just need to have a damn good try at picking up polk gear when I can, the market out here is tiny so they are hard to find and have a rarity premium added. (a pair of RT8 just went for about 220), a new pair of RT25 are still 320. No bulk purchase chains like CC out here.

Back to waiting patiently I go. :)

oh taunt me why don't you, you are a harsh fellow russman :)

wouldn't be so bad if 90% of the stuff on ebay was not US shipping only. I mean really, we are not THAT far south west of california.

lol.........i'm sorry Scott............I wasn't making fun of you at all (to clarify).

I had a hernia surgery on Monday and i'm on Percocet now so my mind is pretty random lately. I wanna get together with you at some point if you're game to see what your system is like. Email me here if you're game.

    Later.......

No porblem, my mind is a little gone right at the moment as well. I only wish I had some drugs. . . got engaged recently, oh, let the fun begin. Already going nuts and stilll another two summers to the dance. By the way, I am in NY, not AZ. AZ is my last name abbrev. My system right now is:

Onkyo TX-DS777 (receiver) and Onkyo DX-C120 (6 disc player),
    Cerwin-Vega HT S15A (subwoofer)
Panosonic 27" TV and Pansonic DVD-RV31 (DVD player)
Polk RT7 (mains), CS 250 (center), and M1 (surrounds)
    Sony Playstation 2.

Had a different TV until it mysteriously broke when I was in California last year, my "fiance" tells me???

    Thx,
    AZ
