**** HK 630 was purchased from cbl117 ****

My buddy is looking for a quality AVR, in exchange for helping me put in all new windows :D

So, not trying to break the bank here, but maybe something in it's day that was top notch, but might run $150-$250 these days.

Anybody got something in a closet that looks good and is willing to part ways with it?

    EDIT: I suppose I should have stated that I would prefer pre-outs for him too, so if he ever wants to step up into a better world with an amp, it'll be possible.

    OK, it's gotta be a Denon, and it's gotta have pre outs. Phew, got that figured out.

    So, any taker's out there? I'd be willing to talk about a little higher price too, if needed. :D

    I have a HK avr630. Its not a denon, but its a damn solid receiver and its got pre-outs. I'd let it go for $275 plus shipping. shoot me a pm if interested.

    a $700-800 receiver for $275? Sounds like a deal to me; Denon or no Denon.

    I'm in the market for a tube preamp. The HK is only used as a preamp. I'm wasting all its wonderful features:o

    No ess. That's a great deal on a great AVR. I have the 635 as well and wouldn't hesitate to suggest used/refurb HKs as a great value to anyone looking for a great AVR on the cheap.

    Holy Schizel!

    Got home from work and saw the package in my living room... you sure this wasn't new in the box? Opened it up, and original everything, from the box, to the bubble wrap to the plastic over the AVR. Very cool my man!

    Thank you! The face plate doesn't close all the way, but for the steal I got, (and not going to be mine!) a minor problem that is easily overlooked.

    I haven't fired it up yet, but plan on doing some side by side comparisons with the Denon 3805. I actually like the sleek look better than the Denon.. I wonder how it'll compare sound wise?!

    Anyways, a big +1 is being sent to shack. Thanks and well done on the shipping! I am impressed!

    Now I gotta find some cables to easily swap out the speakers with...
