Weird.

most be an off shot company of blose(they use reflected sound)

Very cool. It's actually a good idea if you have two end tables and need a set of unobtrusive speakers for ambient music.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Don't laugh. Those suckers sound very, very good. They are perfect for a small room, vacation home, dorm etc. They fill the WAF niche very nicely. I head them at Stephen's place (Quest for Sound) Stephen was so impressed with them at the CES show that he took the line on. The ladies absolutely love them. You can get quite a few different color shades or use your own. You can also order them without shades. They also make a floor stander model. Don't judge a book (in this case, a speaker) by it's cover (or shade)"2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

That'd be an interesting diy project (to rip off the design*). I do need a lamp for my bed and happen to have a couple leftover full range audax drivers...
-
You can even use a lamp cord as speaker wire and get away with it:DI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D
-
AFAIK the omni-directional priciple is different than the Bose direct/reflection method, which just aims drivers in a different direction than the listening position and has no built-in mechanism for controlling the dispersion of the sound.
Still, I find no mention of these speakers containing an actual light...if something looks like a lamp it better damn well act like one too, lol. You know house guests are going to be inclined to shove their hands into that top driver looking for a switch...
Lol, just overheard at work - my cowoker's dad apparently got scammed by the white van guys. She's pissed; luckily she knows where some of these guys live. I hope she gives them the what-for.Tannoy Dimension TD10, SOTA Star Sapphire, Heathkit W4A's, McIntosh MC2100, Eddie-Current Zana Deux, Singlepower SDS, Sennheiser HD650, Audio-Technica L3000, Sony Qualia 010 -

Acoustic Research has a 'Home Decor' series that was shown at CES.

It was pretty neat, the cases were VERY deceiving as to what was behind / in them.

Back in the 70's , I think it was a Swedish Company, made a speaker named Sonab. they were cubes with 61/2 " mid woofers and tweeters all offset in the box. From what I can remember, what? They were pretty good speakers.
The boxes raged from small-12by12" to Taller models with the same multiple drivers. -
I don't understand that why do speakers have to unobtrusive. A speaker's job is to produce sound and it should look like speaker. Why this thing only get applied to speakers, why is no one working creating a fridge that looks like a coffee table etc.-izafar

While Googling for more info on these I stumbled across Stephen's page for these on his site. I have to admit I was a little stunned to see them there. But I certainly trust his product selection. He has yet to steer me wrong.
I'm hoping to make it out that way in the next few months. I might have to stop in and check them out just for kicks and grins.HT

As much as I like the look of a good speaker, not everyone does. (cough wife) The speakers are a great idea. Plus I checked out the Acoustic Research line, and they are a little less practical, but still look pretty cool. On the same note:
