small hum coming from sub

I have 2 PSW-1000 subs one is near the front speakers the other is 3 feet behind my couch. The one near my fronts has a small humming sound, if I turn my reciever all the way down no humming, once i turn it up or power the sub on it will hum. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you can, use a separate outlet for the sub.

What happens if you swap them? Does the hum follow the sub or the location? If location - probably some sort of ground loop issue. If location - the sub is not functioning properly and will probably need service.

D - does the sub hum when its active (LED is green) and the volume is all the way down on the receiver? If not, sounds like either some noise from the outlet or from before the sub in the audio chain.
