If you split from a router's LAN port with another router, you have to disable DHCP, NAT, ip forwarding, etc. on the 2nd router otherwise it will NOT work! (I've worked in networking for 4+ years in a government job)...

You're better off getting a network switch to do the job instead.

Yes. Just not a router! Otherwise you will have to do this:

And, even if you do it correctly you might not even get it to work. Trust me, I've done this on high-end Cisco units and it's not a guarantee. Something like a 4-port switch will do.

It's a basic ethernet switch WITHOUT the router portion. Does the job much better and more reliably than a router with the DHCP turned off.

Nah when you were here - I had the Onix - which was about twice the price of my XBox - which was preowned and about 3-4 years after the release.

as far as the 360, do you have a timeframe in which you can still return it? not exactly sure of the date, but the 'elite' is due out soon. it will be black and come with hdmi, but the hdmi for now will only fetch you better video connection. it still will not allow for true hd, which is what hd dvd is supposed to offer. for now, nix the hd dvd drive. the visuals are top notch for sure, but the audio is enough to make me want to ditch it and get a stand-alone hd dvd player.

Also look for a used copy of F.E.A.R. if you get a chance, should be able to come across one fairly cheap. Great game also, and a nice change of pace from GRAW and GoW.

I would rather use Linksys. I have had trouble with Netgear hooking up to WII changed to Linksys and worked right away.

You are going to love your 360,when you play GOW or Lost Planet you'll realize that gaming just went to a different level,I was enthralled by GOW.And I have the HD dvd player and it does it's job,but I'm with Demi on the audio,my Ps3 totally stomps the 360 in audio and has a bit of an edge as far as video goes.The 360 is the best game console hands down so far though IMO.:)
