FXi5 Wall Location
I will be moving into a new home in June and need help on my rear speaker location. The only location I have is above the arc leading into the kitchen area (pic). The listening position is about 6 8 feet in front of the arc.
The question is if I mount the speakers flush to the wall will that affect the sound at all? I was thinking of getting, B-Tech BT1 Speaker brackets, but to do so it looks like I would have to create new holes in the speak box would this affect the sound?
Thanks for the input.

Welcome to the forum Zak.
I can't tell by your discription of your room and the pic. If I understand you correctly putting the speakers above the arch (near the ceiling? ) would be out of the question. Try to give a better discription of the room and possibly a better pic of the room. One of the first things I would do is pack away that big **** on your the island that for sure will muck up the sound.

This is a model home and the **** will not be there. Yes, I was going to put them above the arc down from the ceiling a bit. I attached another pix to get a better view of the room. The left "wall" has a closet entrance, stairs and entrance to the house.

I can surely see your problem. Are you set on the FXi-5's? cause if you are not and this home is being built in the exact same way I would ask that a pair of LCi-RTS100's or TC60i's be put into the ceiling near the archway they remain in the ceiling but have angled drivers that are positioned toward the listening area and would give you great results. If that is not possible then I would try some speaker stands in each corner place them with 1/2 the drivers firing the length of the wall and that would leave the other drivers firing behind you. I would experiment with that before I would commit to putting holes in the wall for brackets and risk them falling and hitting someone in a new home. What other equipment will you be using?
Congrats on the new home.
JK about the ****.

Unfortunately construction is too far along to do any cabling. What I am going to do is run the cable in the upper corner of the room and cover it will crown molding.
I already have the FXi-5's, CSi5, RTi12 and PSW505. I will run all the cable and put blanks in the ceiling to eventually put in ceiling speakers. I will just have to put the FXi5’s above the arc for the time being with some exposed cable, until I can get the new ceiling speakers.
