Barry Nelson died yesterday at 89. An accomplished actor of film and stage, he was the original James Bond starring in the original Casino Royale, which aired on TV as an one hour show in the '60's before Sean Connery starred in the first Bond movie.

I knew the man and talked with him from time to time at antique shows around the country. The last of which was a few weeks ago in Howard Co., MD where I learned that he had fallen down and broken his hip. I noticed that he did not look well and thought at the time he wasn't much longer for the living. Unfortunately, it seems I was right. He was a really nice guy who will be missed by those that knew him. RIP
