I'm assuming since this has all the decoders built in that I could get by with just this plus a 5 channel amp and I'm all set for HT? In fact, I've got a Pioneer Elite with a preamp problem. Couldn't I just hook this up to the Pioneer and use only it's amplifier section?
2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. Computer - Windows 10/JRiver, Schiit Magni 3+/Modi 3+, Fostex PMO.4n monitors, Sennheiser HD600 headphones

Yes you can since the oppo has a volume control.

Assuming the direct inputs work you could go this route.

Only one way to find out for sure, hook it up and try it.;)

Thanks for the input. I don't actually have the Oppo yet. Just exploring options.
