One of the greatest westerns ever made.

Me and the little guy just watched it.

Me for the 200th time, he for the first!!!! He loved it!

I would love to get the sound track for that movie.

My dad took me to see that in the movie theater when I was 5 years old, I've been watching it in every format available since!!!

The Mag 7 has been my favorite film since I saw it in the theater as a kid.

I have the videotape, and the DVD. That's how to get the ORIGINAL soundtrack. As for the score, some time ago I purchased it on CD from KOCH International Classics. This one was recorded in 1993 by The Phoenix Symphony, James Sedares conducting.

Try and find "Round-Up" on Telarc if you want the most rousing and energetic version of "The Mag 7 Theme" that I have ever heard. If you find it and like it, look for the follow-up on Telarc, "Happy Trails".

The Telarc Mag 7 theme was the first thing I ever heard on GG's Amazings. That was my defining moment in terms of hifi. One of the coolest things I've ever heard.

The WTO finale on Round-Up is pretty awesome as well.

As far as the movie goes, damn skippy. Possibly the two best lines ever delivered on film ever:

    'You lost' - James Coburn
'We deal in lead, friend' Steve McQueen.

"Took me a long time to learn my elbow from a hot rock."

    "You elected?"
"No, but I got nominated real good."

"I was aiming for the horse."

    "I found 'em."

    "Vaya con Dios."

And the last words uttered in the film...........

    "We lost. We always lose."

I have to admit, as much as I love this goddamn film, I can only wonder how much better it would have been with ANYBODY other than Yul Brennar in the lead role. he is about the unlikeliest cowboy on the face of the earth.

Mitchum would've been just fine. Maybe perfect.

It is a wonder why or how he got casted for that roll.

    The best non-line:

    "Where're ya from?"

Chris points behind him with his thumb.

    "Where're ya headed?"

Chris points in front of him.

Hey you don't have an older grateful sister at home do ya?

Released recently on multi-channel hybrid SACD.

I always thought Lee Marvin would have been the man for that role.

Much like the character he played in The Professionals. Another great flick.

    Great film.

When responding to comment about how bad his bloodshot eyes look Lee responds, "You should see them from MY side".

    He zenithed in Cat Ballou.

Franco was the one to watch in The Dirty Dozen.

Ted, he didn't have a bad line in the whole movie. I feel Jane was at the top of her game, physically, in that movie.

I found Franco to be a sniveling snake in the grass, I liked Archer J. Maggott he was a cooooollll twisted psycho!!!

And I thought Franco was a great piece of acting by one helluva man, John Cassavetes.

    "What's your name soldier?"
    "NUMBER ELEVEN!"

Hey Codder, you there? Frankie Ballou probably had the best line in the whole movie. Give it to me and I'll be impressed.
