Amp Wiring

I can't get any help from Crutchfield or anywhere else I looked online, so i came to the failsafe place. I want to hook up my 4 channel amp to my Polk db570s in my truck, (one channel per speaker), but cannot find out how to do so. I have no clue how to do it, and nothing has been much help. If anyone could help me, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Totally off topic, but I would like to install two 3 1/2" speakers in a custom box in my truck for a "complete" surround sound experience, but I dont know if that would be possible. There are no factory holes for them anywhere, I just want to try it out to see if it sounds good. I want to hook the speakers up directly to the head unit, not connect them to the amp. If anyone could help me solve this problem I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

Your speakers will have a positive (+) and a negative (-) terminal, run speaker wire from your amp (will have a + terminal and a - one) and connect them to the positive and negative terminal on your speakers. So positive from amp to positive of speaker, same for the negatives. Make sure one channel goes to each speaker.

As far as the surround sound idea.... don't do it, unless you are going to go with a dedicated surround sound processor.

your setup should look something the image i've attached. like blackmax said, positive is wired to positive, and negative is wired to negative. if you're gonna have 2 speakers, you only need a 2-channel amp. Unless you're gonna bridge a sub or or have another 2 speakers. Also make sure that the speakers are in the correct power range for the amp that you're using to get the most from your speakers. You may or may not know this, but don't run your signal wires next your power wires either. otherwise they might pick up some static.

If you need rear fill get some speakers in the back, but that wont provide you with surround sound unless you get a processor (they're pricey).
