Silly question but I am not that knowledgable about tubes. My tube amps use a pair of 6922's as input tubes. Generally, do input tubes have a very significant effect on the sound?

    Thanks,

Yes, they do Mike. The quality of you input tubes will improve overall sonic quality of you source input.

    Bill,

These tubes are completely on different platform sonically. I have compared them to GE, EI, Phillips JAN 6922’s, Siemens, Mullard…………and I found these tube to be superior to all of them.

Gator, what did you test them in, when you made your comparison? They look like standard 6H23 / 6N1P.

    Cheers,
    Russ
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

We used Audio Research PH5 pre with 4 tubes, AR SP8 and Soundstage 2 tube preamp. These tubes sounded better and have lower noise and microphonics than other 6922 we have compared. Also, we noticed the tubes were more consistent and balanced performers throughout.
