Questions about my 1st install

I just purchased a 10" JL sub in a box and a Pioneer 3300T amp to drive it. I have a Pioneer 4800 head unit. This is for my 2002 Tacoma 4x4, extra cab.
My question is how easy would it be for me to do all the wiring to hook up the new amp and sub? Would I need any special tools? Where is the best place to get step by step instruction on how to do this? It would cost $60 to get it installed by Circuit City, normally I'd just do this but I'm really broke and I'm trying to save some money.
Also, what inexpensive cable package would you recommend for this project. The amp is 300 watt max, 150 RMS.

Go out to wally-world and buy one of their el-cheapo wiring jobbies. That'll give you more than enough wire to play with in your truck. Wiring isn't hard, as long as you've got places to hide it.Ludicrous gibs!

Walmart's kits will work fine. It will cost you about $30.00. Here are some informative sites that may help. http://www.bcae1.com/ http://www.caraudiobook.com/ If you do not find what you need, tell us here, and I am sure one of us can help talk you through the install. You should not need any special tools. Here is what you are likly to need. Wire strippers-crimps, screwdrivers, strait and phillips, drill and a few small bits, a 7/16" and or 3/8" wrench to remove the negative battery terminal. That should be the main tools.

I'm putting the box in the back seat- driver side. Maybe I'll strap it in with the seat belt to keep it secure. Where would you recommend I put it? -

Just wondering b/c you have to special order boxes for those are build you one. The bad thing about it is youre limited to very shallow subs. Going on the back seat you wouldnt have to worry about that, but its the ghetto way to go about it.

This is what I purchased: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_enclosures.php?menu=9&prod_id=321
I agree that putting it in the back seat is not pro looking, but it will have to do for now until the next round of upgrades comes around.
I bought the sub impulsively while I was driving through town and saw a "Going out of business" sign on a car stereo shop and got it for $160 and the amp for $85. This isn't like me, as I usually do my homework first but this time didn't. We'll see how it sounds after I get it hooked up.
