The correct answer is........ it's Audioholic's recommended. Don't drink the Kool-aid while visiting that site.

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!

Well I wanna get this perfectly clear. I didn't compile this list, this is AH recommended stuff and everybody's acting like this is my personal preference. IT'S NOT. OK I tell ya what I'll go back and make this list up AGAIN but this time I'll fill in the blanks with what I would go with. OK?

    DEDICATED HOME THEATER

10.1 CH A/V Receiver: Nope scratch that. Pre/Pro: Anthem Statement D2
Active Room Equalizer: Audyssey MultiEQ Pro Processor: Keep same cuz dont know what it is or how to work it
    7CH Amplifier: Sunfire TGA 7400
Subwoofer Amplifiers (2): Earthquake XJ-600R Skeptic about the different sub amps dont know if they would be used at all and then be considered obselete
    Subwoofer Amplifier: RBH Sound SA-400
Universal DVD Player: Denon DVD-5910CI Most incredible DVD Video/Audio & SACD Player I've seen
HD DVD Player: Blu-Ray Sony BDP-S1 Something tells me that Blu-Ray might take off better than HD DVD and the Sony's the nicest one I've seen
CD Changer: Not too big on changers as many as CD's as I have it'll probably be a blessing so go with either the Sony DVP-CX995V or the Pioneer Elite PD-F27
    Gaming System: Sony Playstation 3
Power Conditioners (2): Since all I know is Monster I'd have to say Monster HTPS 7000 MKII or APC S15
Battery Backup: Dont know anybody else who has battery backup other than APC so the SBATT
LCD Front Projector: Now the video department to HT is totally a mystery to me so I'll probably pick something you wouldn't normally want but the Runco VX-6000D w/CineWide
106" Screen: Again video is a mystery but Da-Lite Cinema Contour
    Front Speakers: Polk Audio LSi15
    Center Channel: Polk Audio LSiC
    Side Surrounds: Polk Audio LSiFX
Rear Surrounds: Polk Audio LSi9 or LSi7
Subwoofers (2): Cant imagine why you need 2 but Definitive Technology Trinity or SVS PB12-Ultra/2
Room Treatments & Acoustics: Auralex Elite
Riser/Bass Traps: Dont know nothing really about room acoustics so Auralex Elite
HDMI Cables: Still a newbie on cables but everybody says Signal is good or Monster M1000 HDMI Cable
10AWG Speaker Cable: Well I think for the speakers it'll have to be Monster M2.4s Biwire
Coax Cables: Dont know why I'd have to use stereo coax cables but I'd chose Monster M1000
Toslink & Coax: Not sure about digital coax but for sure fiber optic Monster M1000
    Component Rack: Middle Atlantic
Universal Remote Control: Dont know too much about remote's but I do know at the shop we carry Elan remote's and they're really nice but it'd be either Elan or RTI Corp T3

Well now that is what I think might be a good system. Before it was what AH thought, but this time it's all me. Feel free to criticize me all you want cause I know you will. :D

It's not. I did all in this fun thinking ya know we might have something to discuss and talk about just chit chat among friends, but it seems like to me everybody's turned this into a big thing against me. I dont understand why.

    Josh,
The way you initially posted this thread would lead many to believe that it was a list you were considering. I realize you've clarified this now, but most of the disagreements fell before you expressed that. You haven't started a "holy war", but it seems like you're trying to justify Audioholics recommendations.

No, I'm not trying to justify anything. Something tells me that nobody here likes or cares about Audioholics. And it seems to me that you dont like them because they're not TRUE audio. What I mean by TRUE audio is they shove in your face something's good because that specific company is financing them. They dont give a hoot about what the speaker really sounded like. That's what I'm gathering from you all. Am I right?

Not necessarily, they are just more prone to promote forum sponsors than say Polk Audio.

Like Cathy said, Audioholics is a bunch of Quacks!;)
