I have read that these amps are pretty decent. Just noticed this one on ebay but was curious if anybody knew anything about this particular model. Seems like it has pretty respectable numbers for the price. Let me know if you can. Thanks ;)http://cgi.ebay.com/AudioSource-2-CH-Class-T-Digital-Stereo-Power-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ120105685108QQihZ002QQcategoryZ39783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Research Tri-path chip amps, that's the main design of this Audio Source. Beware you'll find people who think T amps are the 2nd coming and others who think they are horrid. I fall somewhere in between towards the latter, but I've never heard this particular amp.

I have an older Audiosource Amp/One that looks exactly like this amp. It's 2/80 @ 8ohms and 2/125 @ 4ohms. It plays extremely flat, good detail, average punch. Then it doesn't have as much power as the one you linked. For the price it's tempting. Mine never got hot and always did the job. I'm sure it would be an improvement over an AVR's power section, mine was...

I've been searching a little more on these amps and I can't really find much negative. It seems like they are a solid performer and lots of people like them. Also found that audiosource are supposed to be pretty accurate with there power ratings as well. Interesting. It's almost worth just trying it out for the price.

In this hobby there is no better way to get an idea if you will like it and if it has good synergy with the rest of your system. Try it, if you don't like it, flip it.

Digital power=crap. Large toroidal power, and caps=smooth and powerful. IMHO
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

That isnt a tripath or any other chip amp. It's good old push-pull solid state.

Audiosource is an incredible value for the dollars. Very neutral, and 'real' power.

I've owned a few Audiosource products over the years and they all performed better than what I expected from the price paid. They seem to last, too.

I thought since the specs stated Tripath and T amp that it was Tripath type amp. Maybe not a chip amp, but Tripath nonetheless. It slao states that it's different than AB type amps. The effeciency numbers are right there with the typical Tripath amplification.

    - Power amplification stage utilizes Tripath(R) Digital Power
Processor technology, yielding excellent audio fidelity
with high power conversion efficiency. This amplifier
technology is highly regarded and enjoyed by many critical
    listeners and audio enthusiasts.
    - Typical amplifier efficiency ranges from 67% at 33% rated power
78% at full rated power, significantly higher than traditional
class AB amplifiers. Benefits are cooler operation and
    enhanced amplifier reliability.

I didn't even read that, I saw the picture and thought it was an amp100 or 200. Completely my bad on this one, apologies around. I had no idea they made a Tripath amp.

I'm not familiar with their digital amps, but can attest to the bang-for-the-buck of their standard amps.

I've been using two Amp Threes mono-bridged (400 watts bridged per the specs) to power my LS90s for a few years now. Major improvement over my Pioneer Elite AVR for driving them full range for 2 ch - vastly improved bass slam/control, dynamics, transients, rhythm and pace. The AVR sounded lifeless and constricted by comparison.

Got them as refurbs for $160 each as a cheap experiment into the world of separate amps. Been in my rig a few years now cause I do believe that I would have to spend considerably more money to get a significant improvement - probably stepping into the world of $1K+ amps (new) from the likes of Adcom, Parasound, etc.

The downside/risk with Audiosource appears to be their quality control. You do see a lot of refurbs on the market. However, the plus side of that is that you can get the refurbs for about 40% of normal street price if you're willing to take the chance. It's worked out well for me personally and I feel like it's kind of like buying used, but with a warranty.

I've got an AudioSource Amp Two that I've been running with no problems, I like the signal detection auto on feature. However, it does not see a lot of use, giving power to the 6/7 channels. It took a lot of strain off of my Onkyo AVR for the EX/ES and discrete 6.1 movies.

I was intrigued by this amp, so I did some research into it and the ONLY dealer I could find was that outfit on e-bay. In his pictures was an 800 number (800-help-115), so I called it. It was AudioSource and the tech told me that they had LOTS of problems with the Tripath-based amps and had discontinued them several years ago.

[edit] And, contrary to the listing, AudioSource does not honor the 2 year warranty on them. They will fix them for a "small fee".

I bought my Audiosource AMP Three from JR.com years ago, still working fine. Good bang for the buck, nothing too crazy or esoteric. Looks like they still have refurbs and new models.

Thanks Dave. Good to know about the warranty issues. Soooo, I guess I hope everything goes well with the amp with no problems. But I think it might be worth taking a shot on considering the price and maybe I will get a good one.

I am currently using an Amp/One in bridged mode (200w) to power my CS350. Sounds great and has a sleek profile as well. The price to product ratio is also very good.

Hi,I bought an Amp 2 used off of ebay.I always felt my Yamaha rxv-1200 receiver did a good job but somehow lacked high end detail.Thought maybe my hearing was getting worse or my Polk Monitor 10's were not up to the task.Anyways, received the Amp 2,hooked it up to the pre-outs on the receiver and--Beautiful music again!Very detailed and punchy and sounds more than the 80 wpc that it is specked at.You wont be disappointed. Glad to see there are some budget oriented audio nuts out there! Good luck! Brad:)

Hi. I bought two of 'em for 225 each from the same guy. Got them bridged to mono. Had them about a week and haven't noticed any problems. They run cool and I like the meters.

Any chance you could post some pics? The ones on the auction are a little small.

    How is the sound?

I just bought this audiosource amp to power a pair of patio speakers.

    http://www.amazon.com/AudioSource-Amp-100-2-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00026BQJ6/ref=sr_1_1/103-1097785-6367002?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1176475832&sr=8-1

My wife and I are installing a flagstone patio with a fire pit off of our deck and wanted to have sound out there. For the price, it was good enough for us and it got great reviews.

Of course if you want to bridge to mono, with SDAs, you'll need one of these AI-1 interconnects.

As far as the sound goes, I would say you definitely get the full SDA "effect"

This talk about Audiosource motivated me to put it back in the mix. My sig said I was bridging it on my center and I had planned to but never got around to it. Hooked it up today, bridged it's 200w @ 8ohms, which really brings the CSi3 to life. The speaker sounds very nice, but of course it highlights that it's not voiced to match the SDAs...maybe an LSiC is in my future :) . Nice little amp, very clean, much punchier bridged than in stereo

I just got finished hooking up the Audiosource Amp 100 that I received today (on sale at Amazon for 95.00 with free shipping). For anyone looking for a budget friendly zone 2 amp, this fits the bill. I have a pair of speakers on my patio and a pair of in-walls in the kitchen that I hooked up to the A and B outputs. It is perfect for this application if you're not looking something to blows the windows out. I was surprised by how heavy it was for being so compact.
